Daren discovers a mysterious star-shaped jewel that transports his consciousness into a past life as Daren Saredes in ancient Periapólí on the planet Óshéanús, leading to a parallel storyline in two timelines. In both timelines, Daren and his friends, Sela and Boron, must solve mysteries, battle bullies and hostile forces, and ultimately save their respective worlds from disaster. Major themes include the legacy of ancestry, forbidden magic-like powers, the oppressive nature of rigid social hierarchies, and the power of friendship and courage.
